Título: DEEP-GEUS: a new integrative genomic diagnostics system of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) – assisted by artificial intelligence
IP: Dr. Miguel Ángel Peinado
Resumen del proyecto: Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) is the most common haematological cancer in adults, accounting for approximately one third of all leukaemias. The clinical course of CLL is very heterogeneous and dynamic monitoring is necessary in all of them, as in approximately 20% of cases an activation occurs that requires personalized treatments based on the molecular profiles of each patient. These analyses involve the use of multiple technologies that are developed in laboratories of different specialties, making the whole process time-consuming and costly.
GEUS is a technology that allows the unified sequencing of the epigenome and genome and integrates multiple markers in a single process: detection of mutations, chromosomal alterations and epigenetic analysis.
This project proposes the design, implementation and evaluation of an intelligent mathematical system that, bases on the genomic and epigenomic data generated by GEUS, allows the molecular profiles of each CLL patient to be defined quickly, accurately and efficiently. This will accelerate decision-making in patient follow-up, including the selection of the most appropriate treatment.
